Baptism is an important beginning step for every believer. If you haven’t been baptized, join us at our next Baptism Celebration.
Who should be baptized?
Everyone who has made a commitment to follow Jesus.
“Those who gladly received his word were baptized…” – Acts 2:41
“But now the people believed Philip’s message of Good News concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ. As a result, many men and women were baptized.” – Acts 8:12
How will I be baptized?
The word baptize means “to immerse in water.”
“As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water.” – Matthew 3:16
“…then both Philip and the man went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water…” – Acts 8:38-39
What is baptism?
It is an outward sign of an inward commitment.
…Peter answered, “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. – Acts 10:46-48
So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him the Good News about Jesus. As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?” He ordered the carriage to stop, and they went down into the water, and Philip baptized him. – Acts 8:35-38
Why should I be baptized?
Jesus and the early church leaders commanded water baptism.
Then he (Jesus) said, “Go into the world. Go everywhere and announce the Message of God’s good news to one and all. Whoever believes and is baptized is saved…” – Mark 16:15-16
